Organizational Sets
Organizational sets consist of locations and jobs. You can save an organizational set as a transfer organizational group, a manager organizational group, or both (all organizational groups). Define organizational sets before you add new people so that the organizational set can be assigned to a person upon entry into the system.
The Organizational Sets page lists the organizational sets, transfer organization groups, and manager organizational groups that you can access. The initial display is based on the default wildcard (*) value in the search field; you can use a different search term to tailor the display. When you scroll to the bottom of the list, the list is refreshed with additional organizational sets. The limit of values displayed on the Organizational Sets page is determined by the site.BusinessStructure.OrganizationalSets.limit.pagination system setting, which can be modified by your system administrator.
The Organizational Sets list displays and describes the organizational sets, transfer organizational groups, and manager organizational groups that you can access. You can create groups of jobs for transfer organizational groups:
- For employees and managers to transfer themselves.
- For managers to transfer their employees.
- For identifying employee access to parts of the organization. Only the jobs to which people have access appear on their versions of the business structure.
The default organizational sets include:
- All Organizational Groups — Includes the entire organization, all locations, and all jobs.
- Empty Profile — Does not include locations or jobs.
Your product administrator, or managers who have access, can create the following location and job sets for organizational job validation and scheduling purposes.
- Transfer Organizational Group — Consists of locations and associated jobs to which employees can be transferred.
- Manager Organizational Group — Consists of locations and associated jobs to which the manager has access to.
- All Organizational Groups — Consists of locations and associated jobs to which the manager has access to and can be used in the Job Transfer Set and in the Employee Group.
- Organizational Set — A generic term referring to a job transfer set, an organizational group, or All Organizational groups.
