Configure batch events

On the Batch events tab of the Batch Processing page you can complete any of the following actions.

Create or edit batch events

  1. Select Application Setup > Common Setup > Batch Processing.
  2. Select the Batch Events tab and complete one of the following:
    • New Click Tap New to create a new batch event.
    • Edit — Select a batch event and click tap Edit to copy it.
  3. Enter or edit a Name, Description, and Context.
  4. Add or edit batch tasks:
    1. Select tasks from Available.
    2. Click the right arrow, or click the double right arrow to select all items.
    3. (Optional) Remove items. Select tasks from Selected. Click the left arrow, or click the double left arrow to remove all items.
    4. The batch tasks run in order from top to bottom of the Selected list. Order batch tasks in a logical sequence.

      Example: Run Calculate Open Shifts to generate open shifts before the Priority Scheduling Engine assigns the open shifts to employees.

      To change the order:

      1. Select the batch tasks.
      2. Click the up or down arrows.
  5. Click Save and Return.

The Batch Job List (Administration > Application Setup> System Configuration > Batch Job List) provides status and other details for all batch jobs.

Duplicate batch events

  1. Select Application Setup > Common Setup > Batch Processing.
  2. Select the Batch Events tab.
  3. Select a batch event and click tap Duplicate to copy it.

Activate or Inactivate batch events

Note: If the batch event is included in an event in Event Manager deactivating it does not remove it from the event. In order to remove fully remove the batch event from the Event Manager event delete or disable the event in the Event Manager.

  1. Select Application Setup > Common Setup > Batch Processing.
  2. Select the Batch Events tab and complete one of the following:
    • Activate —Select Inactive from Filter. Select the batch event and click tap Activate.
    • Deactivate — Select Active from Filter. Select the batch event and click tap Inactivate.

      Note: Deactivated batch events remain in the system, but cannot be scheduled in the Event Manager.

Delete batch events

  1. Select Application Setup > Common Setup > Batch Processing.
  2. Select the Batch Events tab.
  3. Select a batch event, click tap Delete. Click Yes to confirm.

    Note: Any location or employee that is assigned to this template is not affected.

  4. Click Save.
