Configure Request Comments
Comments identify the reason for shifts or pay codes in the schedule. A comment on a request is part of the schedule request, not of the shift or paycode A category of time or money that employees earn, for example, Regular Hours, Bonus, or Sick..
Enable at least one comment so that employees can add notes to their requests. The Employee Default Comment must be configured for the request. Employees can enter notes only for that comment.
Edit the FAP
- Click Tap Main Menu
> Administration > Application Setup > Access Profiles > Function Access Profiles. - Select the profile. Click Tap Edit.
- Select Manager—Department Manager > Scheduling.
- In Schedule Shift Comments > Access Scope, select Allowed so that Managers can display comments in shifts and requests.
- In Notes for Schedule Shift Comments > Access Scope, select Allowed so that Managers can display free-text notes in comments in shifts and requests.
- Click Tap Save & Return.
Associate the FAP
Make sure that the access profiles are associated with the relevant people. If you do not have access to People Information, contact the administrator who does have access.
- Click Tap Main Menu > Maintenance > People Information. Select a person.
- Click Tap Access Profiles.
- Select the access profiles.
- Click Tap Save
. - Repeat for other people.
Configure request comments
- Click Tap Main Menu
> Administration > Application Setup > Common Setup > Comments. - Do one of the following:
- Click Tap New.
- Select one comment. Click Tap Edit or Duplicate.
- Select comments. Click Tap Delete. Click Tap Yes to confirm.
- Enter a Comment Text.
- (Optional) Enter a Code Number that is unique and in the range of 0999.
- To keep a comment configured but make it not available for use, select Inactive.
- In Available Categories:
- Select Requests to display comments about employee requests.
- If needed, select any of the following:
- Paycode — Comments related to pay codes; available only in the Paycode Editor
- Pay from Schedule — Comments about pay from schedule; available only when you edit Pay from Schedule
- Punches The entries on a timecard that mark the beginning (in-punch) or end (out-punch) of a work interval, such as the beginning of a shift or transfer. — Comments for punches; available only in the Timecard
- Shifts — Comments about shifts; available only in the Shift Editor
- Click Tap the right arrow
. - Click Tap Save & Return.
