Attestation Answers

Attestation answers are building blocks used to configure Attestation workflows. You can create Attestation questions independently and later associate them with an Attestation question, or you can create them as part of the Attestation question creation process.

Attestation answers consist of answers to Attestation questions displayed to the user, and optional actions associated with those answers. You can associate these actions with Attestation answers:

  • Add Comment
  • Add Paycode
  • Cancel punch
  • Cancel Deductions (all or specific)
  • Send Workflow Notification

For example, you might configure a question like this:

Question: Did you take your meal break today?

Answers: Yes or No.

If the employee answers No, the action associated with that answer could initiate a workflow notification to the employee's manager or apply a paycode edit to apply a bonus.

Create Attestation answers and actions

  1. From the Main Menu, select Administration > Application Setup, then select Attestation.
  2. From the Attestation list, select Attestation Answers. The Attestation Answers page opens.
  3. On the Attestation Answers page, click Create .
  4. In Name enter the name for the answer.
    Note: Give the answer a name that will make it clear which question it pertains to.
  5. In Answer Text enter the text that you want to display to the user in response to an Attestation question.
  6. In Answer Variable enter the variable associated with this answer.
    Note: Variables are referenced in , but they must be created using the Workflow Designer. See the Business Processes Developer's Guidefor more information.
  7. Select Offline Attestation only if this answer is to be used for offline Attestation. (See Configure Offline Attestation for more information on this topic.)
  8. (Optional) In the Answer Actions grid, click Create to configure the action to associate with this answer.
  9. In the Create Action Type glance, select an Action Type from the drop-down list, then provide the necessary information based on your selection:

    Add Comment

    Name— Select the name of a comment configured on your system.

    Add Pay Code

    • Name— Select the name of a paycode configured on your system.
    • Amount— Enter the hours applicable to the paycode.
    • Comment— Select the name of a paycode comment configured on your system.

    Cancel Punch

    No additional fields.

    Cancel Deductions

    Name— Select the name of a deduction to cancel.

    Send Workflow Notification

    Name— Select the name of a workflow notification configured on your system.

  10. To change the order of the answers, select and drag the lines to the order desired in the Current Assigned Order table.
  11. Click Save.
