ADP Workforce Manager Data Hub
Data Hub is a secure, enterprise-grade data warehouse integrated with ADP Workforce Manager and deployed to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Data Hub is designed to extract large volumes of ADP Workforce Manager data, process the data, and deliver it to the BigQuery data structure of your GCP project.
About Data Hub
- Data Hub has numerous pipelines that process and deliver different types of data, including schedule, self service, forecast, people, and timecard. Wrappers are used to run pipelines in logical groupings and sequences. Initial deliveries are historical and subsequent deliveries are incremental.
- Pipelines are executed to securely extract data using APIs installed with ADP Workforce Manager. They deliver the data into tables and views in BigQuery for your GCP project.
- After data is delivered to BigQuery, you can analyze, monitor, and view data reports in third-party, business intelligence applications such as Tableau and Qlik.
Data Hub Configuration Portal
Data Hub Configuration Portal is a browser-based application that Data Hub administrators use to monitor the status of the Data Hub processes and configure how and when the data is delivered to BigQuery.
Log in to Data Hub Configuration Portal to:
- Monitor pipeline and wrapper performance
- Configure pipeline settings
- View job history
- Audit tenant configuration changes
- Set up mappings for paycodes, location types, and custom drivers. Note: Mapping values in bulk is available for paycodes and fiscal calendars.
- Schedule wrapper execution
For more information, see ADP Workforce Manager Data Hub Configuration Portal.
Prerequisites
Before you work with Data Hub, note the following:
- To use Data Hub with ADP Workforce Manager data, integration steps must be completed, including provisioning the tenant, specifying Data Hub user accounts, ensuring a GCP project is configured for Data Hub use, granting access to the ADP Service Account, and so on. For information about ADP Workforce Manager configuration and integration with Data Hub, provisioning the instance, GCP project creation and setup, and using the Data Hub Administration Portal to maintain integration and credential information, see the Data Hub Setup Guide.
- Before users can access Data Hub Configuration Portal, in
ADP Workforce Manager the Configuration Portal control point must be allowed in their Function Access Profile (FAP).
Note: Data Hub Configuration Portal access is based on the FAP for the your primary/default role within ADP Workforce Manager. If you have multiple roles, you cannot access the portal unless the FAP is associated to your primary/default role.
- After the control point is allowed, users can create a ADP Workforce Manager Home page custom tile which allows them to access Data Hub Configuration Portal through ADP Workforce Manager.
- Before the Data Hub administrator can access the Administration Portal, a Data Hub administrator user account must be designated for the Data Hub tenant. If this has not already been done, contact your ADP Functional Expert to initiate the process.
-
When Data Hub is first deployed, paycode mappings are bulk loaded into your Data Hub project. The mappings establish the paycode relationship between ADP Workforce Manager and the Data Hub data model in the tenant. Data Hub admins can do this directly in the Configuration Portal. For more information, see Paycode Mapping Bulk Update.
Data Hub also supports the fiscal calendar-based reporting and analysis of your ADP Workforce Manager data. Before you can work with your fiscal calendar in the Configuration Portal, you must first import the fiscal calendar data by uploading a CSV file that maps the calendar dates to your fiscal periods. For more information, see Fiscal Calendar.
Note: As an alternative, supply the source paycodes and fiscal calendar and their appropriate mapping values to a in CSV files. The will then bulk load the spreadsheets directly into your GCP Data Hub project during implementation.
